Home About me What is early clàrsach? I enjoy teaching the techniques, repertory and history I have learned from studying the old books and manuscripts and from discussion with other early Gaelic harp specialists. Since 2006 I have been based in St Andrews, Fife. I also travel to Edinburgh and Dundee, and I am in Ireland every August to help run the annual Scoil na gCláirseach in Kilkenny. I teach a weekly clarsach class at the Wighton Heritage Centre, Central Library, Dundee, DD1 1DB. Every Saturday, 2.00-3.30pm, £4 / £2.50 concessions. Just turn up! Private lessons are available in Edinburgh, on the 1st Tuesday of every month. Please call for details.
I believe it is important to start from the very beginning with a copy of a historic instrument. I have harps available for prospective students to borrow; also as Secretary of the Historical Harp Society of Ireland I can advise on the HHSI/Kortier range of affordable student early Gaelic harps. As well as private lessons and classes I can offer group workshops or lecture-demonstrations. Please contact me to discuss your needs! Teaching links
